The 19th Vitafoods Exhibition was held in Geneva, the city where the European headquarters of the United Nations is located. The event was held from May 15 to 17, 2018, featuring a new product area and an academic forum area. Its aim was to provide a platform for industry insiders to showcase their latest research achievements, seek cooperation opportunities, demonstrate the practical applications of new products to visitors, and stay abreast of the latest trends in new product development in the industry.
Based on our participation, we observed that a trend is emerging in the collaboration between DHA manufacturers and professional distributors. In the healthcare product industry, algal oil DHA is a niche category, and customers often have a series of product developments, thus preferring to procure multiple categories from professional distributors. By visiting these manufacturers, we found that blended oils have more competitive advantages compared to standalone DHA algal oil. We have gained much from this exhibition and will continue to follow up on existing projects and information.
